When looking for a new challenge in his life, Menelaos Alevras decided to relocate to London from Greece, where he studied at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. After graduating, he found himself on the road again, but this time to Paris where he set up residence.
After hard work and determination, he was able to break into the fashion world and began working on photo shoots and runway shows, traveling to the fashion capitals of Milan, Munich, London , and Athens. His next move, proved to be the most important in his career.
Menelaos moved to New York City, determined to establish himself in the world's fashion capital with the top U.S. designers and magazines. Having come up through the European fashion ranks, he found himself on jobs working with the best the fashion world had to offer. Magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire and Glamour hired Menelaos to shoot editorial as well as Advertising Campaigns with L'Oreal, Avon, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Vera Wang and Neiman Marcus.
When asked what attracted Menelaos to a life working with hair, he said, "I've always pictured myself working in a field where I could create with my hands. Working with hair, my canvas is always changing from one person to the next and that presents an interesting challenge for me."
