Hikari Tezuka was born in Tokyo, Japan to an American mother and a Japanese father. Growing up in a missionary family, Hikari did lots of traveling and absorbed the culture in places such as Mexico, Manila, Portugal, Germany and Holland.
When Hikari was 21 she moved to Los Angeles where she began her career working in a salon. Hikari's personal clientele continued to grow and after a few years she decided it was time to pursue a freelance career. She was soon contacted by a local agency to do some session work and right away she fell in love with the freedom that a freelance career provided and she vowed to never go back to working in a salon.
It seems Hikari made the right choice because today she spends her time traveling back and forth between NY and LA to work with a variety of advertising and editorial clients. Her work has appeared in features for Nylon, L'Officiel, Rolling Stone, Jalouse, Vanity Fair, Interview and Harper's Bazaar and her advertising clients include Nordstrom, Hurley, Avon, Children's Place and Jafra Cosmetics.
